I am pleased to announce an opportunity to become a patron of Stephenson pottery. Since doing an apprenticeship with Matt Jones of Sandy Mush, NC I have understood the importance of having a large wood fired kiln and selling pots through kiln openings at my studio. The chance to do that is finally here and I'm asking for your help in finishing the kiln. The following info will tell you how.
Be a part of an exciting event while investing in local North Carolina wood fired pottery. Stephenson Pottery is expanding and building a new kiln in Rutherfordton, NC. The construction has already begun with the help of a grant from the Arts and Science Council in Charlotte, NC (http://www.artsandscience.org/). The land has been graded, the kiln shed has been constructed and the first batch of brick has been ordered and will be delivered in October. To finish the kiln in time for the first firing in the spring of 2012, Stephenson Pottery is seeking patrons to help support the cost for purchasing the remaining brick and constructing the kiln.
As an patron you will be given the opportunity to select pots from the “first firing”, a special mark for any kiln. The value of the pots you may choose will equal the amount of your initial investment*. For example, if you invest $100, then you will have the opportunity to choose $100 worth of pottery from the kiln. When we receive your investment, Stephenson Pottery will send you a “First Firing Certificate” showing the amount of your investment. This certificate can be used at the first firing, or any firing in the future. Each pot included in the first firing will have a special stamp commemorating the event.
Investments can be made in three ways:
*Minimum initial investment $25
· Use PayPal – Make a payment to ajs@ajspottery.com (www.paypal.com)
· Mail a check – Make the check out to Andrew Stephenson and mail it to 121 Middle Oaks Drive, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
· Credit Card over the phone – Call Andrew at 828-712-3134 and provide your credit card #.
Be sure to include your mailing address so we can send you your “First Firing Certificate” as well as notify you of the date for the firing.
This is an exciting time for Stephenson Pottery and we are excited to have you be a part of this special event.
